Holiday Haul! August 2014

On holiday I find it impossible not to buy things and in France they had this shop..it is called Sephora...it is make-up heaven. I seriously spent most of my money on food and make-up, this is what my life is turning into. I don't regret it. Now without any further ado, here is what I bought whilst on holiday!

O•P•I Nail Varnish (Got the blues for red) - €13

I like to paint my nails as many girls do. I also just love to hoard as many colours as possible to my hearts content. I love red. I have more things in red than I can count. My nail varnishes are no exception. I likes this colour "I got the blues for red" as it's a little darker and matched with the right lipstick and heels makes me feel more powerful than ever. I like that. It's classy, sophisticated and exactly what I was in need of. I have also recently been having a thing for OPI and I feel that it's not going to be stopping anytime soon.

Rimmel 60 Second Rita Ora Nail Polish (Light pink "Losing Your Lingerie") - £3.69

A quick little airport purchase as I realised I was about to go away for a month without any nail varnish. Not okay. By now you may have noticed how much I love pink, more specifically pastel and baby pink. I felt my nails should get the same treatment. I used this a couple times when away and I do like the colour. Some of my friends borrowed it too and felt the same. However it did have a slightly "painty" feel which I don't like with nail vanishes at all so I can assume this will most likely be used as a base colour for other polishes and designs. One coat takes longer to dry than 60 seconds, do not be fooled by advertising but I does still dry quicker than others I've used in the past. On my nails they lasted a couple days before it stared to chip off, I think this was mainly because I didn't have a top coat on but I'm not too sure. I've had better and I've had worse, but either way at least I like the colour.

Sephora Cleansing Gel & Exfoliating Brush - €10

I like to look after my face. This has come from my dislike of wearing a full face of foundation and my paranoia of "slag lines" and turning into an oompaloompa. For me foundation just makes me more self conscious about my face, which I guess is the opposite of what it is supposed to do for you. So I have started to try and take better care of my skin. In doing so I bought this in Sephora. I love this as it has an exfoliating brush built into it. The brush is quite soft and the actual gel isn't to harsh either, making it perfect for everyday. However after the first couple times of using it I started to get some break outs so I quickly stopped using it. Once they went away I started to use it again and have't had anymore so I'm assuming it was something I ate, but this can happen when you change your skincare routine. It leaves my skin feeling nice and soft and, with the exception of concealer, I haven't needed to use any foundation which makes me very happy.

Sephora Eau de Toilette (Vanilla, Caramel and Strawberry) - €4.50

These handy, purse sized, little eau de toilette were recommended by a friend and are bloody fantastic. I initially chose mine in vanilla, because I love anything vanilla, but there was also the option to have it in everything from peony to caramel to mango.
I then went back and additionally bought one in Strawberry and in Caramel. All three smell is amazingly delicious, it last for forever, you yourself continue to smell it, which is handy because I find with some perfumes etc that you stop smelling it, but other people don't, so you put on more and then it becomes too over powering. I haven't had that with this. It also wasn't expensive. I also had a little look for it on the Sephora website but I could find it which was annoying. Some thing I highly recommend.

Dior Addict Lipstick (Mayday 651) - €25

This is the first higher end lipstick I have every bought and I was most certainly not disappointed. You get what you pay for. I am a fan a red lipstick s naturally that's where I went. I got the Dior Addict Lipstick in Mayday 651. I actually had a look for it on the Dior website but I couldn't find this shade which I found a bit odd. Anyways first off I love, love, love the packaging. I do get confused when trying to get the lipstick out though because you assume you need to pull the packaging above the little metal band, however you actually just need to pull the very top part. I just really adore the packaging, inside and out. I love the shade of this lipstick and I went with the reddest red I could find and I was certainly not disappointed. Another thing I love about this lipstick is the way it feels on your lips. Some I have feel a bit to sticky and some aren't too good for my lips. This one however felt great, left me lips in good condition and lasted a long time. It even made it though dinner which is something my other lipsticks haven't done before.

Toni & Guy Sea Salt Texture Spray - £2.19

 Something I bought again quickly in the airport before I left. I figured my hair would be messy a bit as I wouldn't have an awfully large amount of time to do anything to it. A texture spray was also something I've been after for a while and considering it wan't too expensive I figured "why not?". This doesn't do too much to your hair but I guess I like that, it's a little more subtle. Also you don't need too much to get a good look, this is helpful as salt isn't what I'd call the best thing for your hair. There is probably a better product for this and I will keep looking but this will do for now. I'd rather have it tan not.

Laino Vanilla & Raspberry Lip Balm - €2.50
I bought two of these simple because they smell amazing. These were a little purchase from a pharmacy in France so I doubt you could find them in the UK. They are similar to the Maybelinne Baby Lips in the care they give to your lips and the way they feel afterward, however more natural and without any colour. They also smell and taste a little better...not that you really should be eating these. The vanilla is my favourite as the Raspberry smells maybe a little too "manufactured" to me if you get what I mean. Two lovely little products which I will repeat purchase given the chance.

The Body Shop Hand Cream (Wild Rose, SPF15) - €6 

I am not normally a fan of hand creams, for the reasons that they leave my hands sticky and kinda gross. However I found with this is that the cream absorbs very quickly and leaves your hands nice and soft for quite a long time. I like this.
My only complaint is the smell, but that's my fault. I forgot how much I hate the smell of roses. Luckily for me though the scent? doesn't last too long and isn't too strong so it's bearable, however this is certainly not something I will be buying again, but maybe in another flavour?
(Do excuse me, I never know wether to put flavour, smell, scent etc.)









Rimmel Glam'Eyes HD Eyeshadow (022 Brixton Brown) - £6.99
I wanted a new eye shadow pallet, not to big, but not just one shade, so this was naturally perfect! A quick little airport purchase I was hardly expecting to much from has certainly exceeded my expectations.
When it comes to eyeshadow I love browns, pinks, blacks and neutrals and will stay away from anything blue or green. In my opinion wearing those colours, especially during the day, just makes me feel a bit tacky, it's not for me. This is one of the reasons I liked this so much. BROWN! And a lil redish/brick brown and some cream/white/yellow shades too. A perfect little mix. (see what I did there?)
The eyeshadows don't fade off too much during the day and don't crease or anything like that which is always a plus.

Neon Green Sunglasses - €5

I broke my sunglasses...I actually broke two pairs in the first week so one day at the market I decided to pick out the douchiest I could find. They came in the form of these wayfarer style, matte neon green, reflective sunglasses. At first I was wearing them ironically but, um, now I just really love them, which is a problem. Something else about these is that they are very dark which is more often than not slightly annoying, but because of that and the fact that they are reflective, meaning no one can see your eyes....which makes them perfect for staring at people.

Cherub bookmark - €12

I remember I had one of these a few years ago...I was maybe nine or ten. My dad had bought it for me and it was a little fairy and I just remember how completely in love with it I was. Unfortunately it broke but then when I saw this one I knew that I kinda needed to have it. Also because I don't like normal bookmarks and tend to dog-ear the pages of my books. It's a terrible crime I know. I found a little that the little cherub looks like those Michelangelo painted on the ceiling of the Sistine Chapel. It was too cute not to by and as it sits in my book it just is adorable and makes me look clever and educated! (I'm not actually this far into the book...I'm on page 160...)

Note Pad - €2.50

I was in France for camp. I had two weeks of French lessons everyday and I am taking French in September for A-Level. I needed a little book to write everything down, all the grammar, in so I bought this. I will probably continue to use it as it's just convenient to have everything in the same place right? And yes I am more than aware that on the front I have spelt grammar and "grammer", but I'm dyslexic so Just leave me alone about this one okay?

André Pineapple Shoes - €41

This seems to amuse my friends. I have a strange pineapple obsession. Even stranger still is that I am in fact allergic to pineapple. Yep.
I just really love the  pattern and the style of the shoe, something I didn't have before. I just think they're quite pretty.
However these shoes are plastic so currently not the most comfortable and will need to be worn with socks unless you want blisters...I didn't listen to my mother and now after wearing these once have blisters on my heels and on my pinky toes. They hurt like hell. Listen to your mother, she knows best.
Unfortunately for me I am a believer that fashion is pain...so I'll walk on.

Zara Pineapple Towel - €5

I wasn't lying when I said I have a weird thing for Pineapples. Exhibit B shall demonstrate this. This is a small hand towel from Zara home. I need new bath things for when I go boarding in September and I needed one for at camp. My mum actually bought me the full set of these cute designs from the Zara website when I got home which made me very happy. The towel is nice and soft and does well what a towel is supposed to do, dry you. I was also allowed to order another set..I went with leopard pint because I'm tacky and I hate you. (Please get the reference)



Repetto Ballerina Pumps (Baby Pink) 

I haven't had a pair of shoes like these since I was eight. I fell absolutely in love with them the moment I saw them. They are in my favourite colour, pink, or more specifically baby pink.
These shoes fit like a dream and go really well with black, pink or any other pastel. Great for my wardrobe.
They bring out my inner child and just make me very happy. I also love ballet, I had my fair share of "Angelina Ballerina" books and these were bought in a shop which actually sells ballet things such as adorable tuts for little ones and pointe shoes. So you should hope that this company knows what they're doing when it come to ballerina pumps right?
I love these. Something I will certainly wear till they are falling apart.

Lavender Bag - €6

My mum bought this for me when we were at on of the French markets. It's a little bag of lavender with a little bag to go in. Mine has an E sticked into it for Emma! I love anything with my name on it or just a letter or my initials, love it to bits. Provence, where we bought it, is also a place which grows a lot of lavender. It smells very good. I love lavender. This will now live inside my wardrobe to keep my clothes smelling good and to keep the moths at bay. These also only need to be replaced about once a year so hopefully next year we can go back to Provence. I absolutely adore it there.

GoPro Head Mount - € 25

I bought a go pro last year to go skiing and I find that I just now seem to want more and more stuff for it. As a result I bought, on impulse at the airpot whilst waiting for my flight, a new head mount. It also came with a clip mount too. I have used this a few times already and I must say that it is very useful when you need your hands, the shots you can get whilst using it are really quite good. I would certainly recommend it and yes I know now every time I'm at the airport I'm going to by the GoPro a new accessory....I don't even care.

Holiday Prep Fashion Haul - July 2014 (Pt.2)

Hello and welcome to my part two of a recent haul. Part one with Make-up and products can be found here!
So I am currently in France as an attempt to improve my French for when I enter into lower sixth. I am taking French as one of my four chosen Pre-U subjects. I also do not have that many clothes. I know it is terribly cliché to say so but before my recent shopping trip I didn't own a pair of jeans.

Fashion

Polkadot Dress

For once in my life I managed to put away my particular disdain for polkadots for this little dress. Another Primark piece (don't you bloody judge my guilty pleasure) I like this one significantly more than all the others. So much so that the moment I put it one I ran to show my mother just how perfect it was on me.
You can't see I because of my hair but the dress does in fact not have any straps. however does not need the as the top part of the dress is stretchy so clings to you well. Over all a nice little thing for summer as the fabric is quite thin so you hopefully won't get too hot.








Louis Tomlinson Shirt

If you watch my videos, have been reading my blog for a while or know me in person, you may be aware of my love for One Direction. 
In particular I happen to have a soft spot for Louis Tomlinson, i don't know why I just do.
So why not buy a t'shirt with his face on?!
Yes it's another buy from Primark because they often actually happen to have items like this, especially Disney.
i liked this as it's better than some of the more official One Direction merch which is just still a tad to young I guess.
Naturally I just hope he never see's me wearing this, but then again the chance of that happening is about a million to one.





Slytherin Shirt

As I mentioned Primark are good with stocking merch from different franchises ect. They also happend to have this Slytherni shirt! As a Harry Potter fan I kinda needed to have it. I chose the Slytherin one as everyone has their house and mine is always unboudtably Slytherin.













Skinny Jeans

I was in dire need of a new pair of jeans. I didn't even own a pair before I bought these, that's how much I needed some new ones.
Black because it's the colour of my soul and skinny because I'm so punk rock. My mum however disagrees with this an refuses to allow me to rip holes in them so maybe when she isn't looking I'll accidentally on purpose trip and rip them. Whoopsies.
Theses were from Next, they always seems to do jeans well. The fabric was still pretty stretch which makes them much easier to put on and they seemed to do me well when I wore them in 27'C upon arriving in France.







Knee Length Shorts

A purchase from H&M, these pair of short had the main function of humoring my mother who told me to buy longer short considering the majority of my other pairs are very short indeed.
Heads up with this one though, I did get a rather dodgy tan lie from it so I wonld not reckoend waering in sunny waether unless you think that tan lines such as that are in right now, whatever floats your boats









Floor Length Skirt

This is from Primark. I liked the skirt and when in the sun it's shadow in the prettiest thing ever. It is great for keeping bugs away from your legs as it basically acts as a mosquito net. Another things is that when it gets too hot you can take part of the skirt and tuck the hem into the waist and it still looks good. This colour also went with loads of my clothes so arguably one of the favourite things which I bought!

Black Bando

From New Look, I purely bought this because I didn't have one and felt as though it was something which I needed. I am someone who owns far too many sheer t-shirts and lower cut tops and rather bright bras. So to contain my bras so not too much boob is on show this works perfectly, you also can't go wrong with black right?







Lace Skirt

An adorable little purchase from H&M, this skirt is also one of the favourite things which I have bought. Although it is quite short, when you bend over your whole ass isn't actually on display which is nice. Not sure how it manages it but I approve.
The patterns on the skirt are just cute and the skirt matches a similar pair of shorts which I own, I like coordination so it was just a bonus for me. My only problem with this is that the 

Accessories

Black Hat Primark
I am a fan of hats even thought they don't suit me 100%, I still love them to bits. With hotter weather means sunnier weather which means getting blinded every time you walk outside, an obvious inconvenience. How to solve? Hat.
I bought this. I love the way it covers my eyes when at certain angles and the way it makes me feel damn fine and expensive. I'm so fancyyyyy


White Hat Primark

There was also the option of buying the same hat in white aaaaaaaaaaaand as one of the worlds most indecisive people I opted to buy both...just because I could. I regret nothing. Both hats are from Primark.

Blue/Green/Turquoise/Duck Egg Hat

Please excuse the naming of the hat because me and my mother couldn't decide on the colour, her saying it was green and me saying it was blue.
Either way this beanie was something my mother told me not to buy because it was summer but I bought it anyway because it is cold in the uk, sorry mum.
It's just cute I guess.

Boston Red Sox Cap

I must admit that I have never really been one for baseball caps, however I did in fact like this Red Sox one which I received as a present after my Dad was in Boston. And yes before anyone asks I am aware of who the Red Sox are thank you very much!

The litte red socks on the front of the hat are little red sequense that have been sewn on, a nice touch I think!




Pizza Earrings

I don't really wear a wide variety of earring. I tend to just stick to the same ones all the time. I feel as this pair may become ones I will ed up wearing all the time. They match my personality and represent a large part of my life. They also add to my pop-punkness. My mom doesn't understaaaaaaaand.




That's a lie, she totally does. These were from Claires. Also my ears can get irritated by certain types of metal but these didn't do anything so they are nice to wear because they don't hurt. These just make me really happy.

Mood Ring

However because of the nature of products such as these and their price, it was only £2, the impurities in the metal of the ring have rubbed off on my finger very quickly turing it and interesting shade or green. Washing your hands does get it off easily thought so it isn't too much of a deal really.

Water Melon Bag

This I couldn't resist. I spoke to the lady at the cashier desk and she said that the last time they had them in the shop the sold out almost immediately and you can see why! Totally adorable and fun. There was also a citron option!

Striped Backpack

Because I am spending time out on trips I decided a normal bag would be too much on an inconvenience for me so I went for the backpack to shove all my crap in. The white stripes started to fade after a few days of service but personally i don't mind as much as it just adds to the bag effect.
The straps on the back are holding strong, however the handle on the top not so much. I'm no longer able to pick it up from here without the fear of the strap tear straight off as it had started to rip around the sides. One perk of the is bag however is that it may as well be Mary Poppins bag by just how much actually fits inside it!
Fun for on holiday but not useful for everyday and regular use though.

Purse

My poor River Island purse from last summer was on it's last legs due to its terrible owner....whoopsies. A new purse was due either way. This little gem I found in the depths of Tkmax. (My favourite place) and I love it. Sadly i don't actually know where it's from. If anyone does know please drop me a comment I would very much appreciate it. This red also matches some of my lipsticks and I love coordination so a personal win for me. The purse is also leather which I enjoy. Sorry but I have a certain disdain to fake leather. This purse has plenty slots for your Boots club card, your Starbucks card and your Sephora card. Thats the most essential thing right?

Knuckle-Duster Clutch

A few years ago Alexander McQueen did Knuckel-duster clutches. I feel instantly in love with them but as life would have it I was a little to young to have one so but the time I was I couldn't find them anywhere which I found terribly annoying. My to my hearts content I found one, once again, in the depths of Tkmax (my saviour). I chose this one as it was coordinated with my dress for prom, this served as my prom clutch. The little clutch fits everything a girl will need or want for such an occasion which was very pleasing. However being me I managed to get red lipstick on the back and er.... well it hasn't come off. Oops..

E Makeup Bag

I am a sucker for anything with my name on it...or my letter. It makes me feel special. I was in dire need of a new makeup bag as my last one was getting a lil...well....grubby. So I found this in the fabulous Tkmax, this one's Betsy Johnson.
It fits all my essentials and it's not too large in my bag.





My Other Bag Is Designer

I feel as though everyone seems to own a bag of this type so I decided to get one which was very me.
Currently however it is being used as a laundry bag and I am almost 100% sure that is the purpose it will serve.
From Next. Big, durable and not too expensive, just another thing you'd rather have than not!

 So yes that was my latest fashion and co endeavour. Something I would like to note is that recently I have very much gotten obsessed with make-up, being a 16 year old girl I'm sure this isn't surprising. I love make up I really do, I've never been very good at it but slowly but surely I am getting better. Make-up is difficult, this is why I tend to stick to fashion!

And hey how great do I look? Layering hats is so in right now.
