Today I'm Wearing... (Aug 23rd)

Quick, mini today I'm wearing for you all; mainly because I liked my makeup today idk.

Yes I know I'm posing
So on my face I did my eyebrows, first I used a pencil to outline them and then filled them in with some lighter eyeshadow. I did my mascara, top and bottom lashes. Took some black pencil under my eye and then some white pencil on the inner corners of my eyes. Concealer around my nose and under my eyes of course. Contoured (badly) the sides of my nose a lil, my temples and cheek bones. And then finished off with my favourite red lipstick.

I'm off to see the new Doctor Who episode today (wohoo) and I'm seeing it with Georgia who you may know. Her channel is here! She got me this top which is seriously amazing and just had to wear and needed to show you!

see, told you I'd put it the right way round... eventually...

Today I'm Wearing... (May 10th)

Ah yes, so the last time I did a "Today I'm Wearing" was back in September when I started year 11. It is now May and I have just left school and started study leave...oh well, I'm terrible at keeping a diary so I'm no sure why I thought I could run a blog.

So that said. let's being!

Im wearing an old black top (which I nicked of my Mum) from Esprit, my skirt is from Miss Selfridge which I've worn in a couple posts and i bought it last summer and finally the tights are from Primark which I showed you in my last haul.

Excuse the fact that I'm not smiling, I seem to have lost the ability to smile recently...you would too if you have as much stress and revision to do as me! *sobs quietly in a corner*

On the make up front I decided to be minimal...ish. I'm revising and besides the occasionally venture outside to buy snacks. I have concealer, mascara, a thin (as thin as I could get it) line of mascara and some pink lipstick because I was feeling fun.
 Rawr!
Tiger print tights certainly make everything a little more fun.

I curled my hair and I would like to point out that this is the first occasion on which I have successfully managed to curl my whole head, well done me.
I hope you liked my quick little post and I will force myself to do more over the summer so that i can get back into the habit of writing because honestly, I do love it!

Today I'm Wearing... (September 9th)

Today I'm wearing... my uniform, unfortunately.
Summer is no more and people are going back to school. Most people in the UK went back last week, myself on Thursday. Do I like my uniform? Uh, no. But then again who does?

My expression gives away my feelings for my uniform
The skirts are an awful length (which is why I and everyone else rolls them up with the exception of most year sevens), the shirts, when new, are positively painful to look at and have on occasion caused the odd headache and the jumpers we have... don't even get me started on the jumpers.
I'm not wearing mine in the picture because I refuse to wear it and I don't want anyone stalking me thank you very much, but I will be burning mine when the time comes and will film it for you all because I think you'll enjoy that! (No I'm not a pyromaniac).

Hi.
To go with my dark uniform I decide to go get the brightest most colourful bag I could. I found it too. It was on sale and it fits all my crap- I mean school work inside which means I don't have to drag around an extra bag! I also got lots of lovely compliments on it which I can't exactly complain about AND SO FAR I HAVEN'T SEEN ANYONE ELSE WITH THIS BAG! Let's be honest, is there really anything worse than seeing a year seven walking around with the exact same bag as you? I don't think so.

I also purchased some new, cool school shoes. Okay they're not really school shoes they're just black and within the rules. If you haven't seen them you will find them here! And I am soooo not redirecting you because I deleted the picture I was going to use by mistake, no no no.

Let me know why you hate, or maybe even like your uniform in the comments below!

Today I'm Wearing.. (July 1st)

Another lazy Summer weekend with the lukewarm temperatures and the little promise of a sunny day as the sun occasionally peaks through the clouds I thought it would be worth wearing shorts and a top, even if it came at a risk. I have gone with a band shirt (doesn't matter which because I have several similar ones, this one is an Asking Alexandria band shirt) a skinny, leather cross-stitch belt and some shorts which I made myself.

Because with my choice of shirt I decided that I should go along with a more band/music related outfit so I decided to wear some bracelets band with some of my favorite artists. The wrist bands I am currently wearing are a One Direction, All Time. I am wearing a Slam Dunk wrist band (It's a festival here in the Uk) a union jack bracelet from my friend and a Starburts wrapper bracelet which I made myself. (If anyone want to know        how to make them comment below and I will post some instructions so you can have some too!)

I went with the belt because this way I could create a more interesting look, add a different tone to the outfit because of the colour and help me to keep my outfit together a little.

I made the shorts by purchasing a cheap pair of waist high jeans from a charity (thrift) shop, cut them to the length I wanted, slightly beached the bottom (they were a lot darker before) and then allowing the bottom to fray. It cost me about £6 so if you want some shorts but have basically no money this is the way to do it!

Let me know which bands you usually wear out and about!

Today I'm Wearing... (June 16th)

So today me and my mother went to a "Grand Summer Sale" which was basically various stalls inside a large marquee where various interiors and garden related business could display what they had to offer and help to promote themselves etc, etc. (I spent the whole time pointing at thing going "Mum I've got that on Sims. Don't judge. It's my favorite game.)

I am wearing my trusty Slam Dunk concert top, a pair of waist high vintage floral shorts for Miss Selfridge and a denim shirt from Next. (My bag is just my camera bag). I didn't wear much for the reason that it was warm outside anyways and if you're inside in a marquee that's packed it's even hotter.
Also I put my hair up in a high bun because I had just had a shower and didn't exactly want water dripping now my back because, well, it's annoying.
I think the look worked well because of the whites and blues and black. It really does have a sort of Summer cool around it no?

Shorts: Miss Selfridge £ 32 - Top: Slam Dunk £15 - Shirt: Next £20
You may notice that in my hand there is a mirror, I decided to buy a retro hand held mirror from the sixties, it cost around £15 and also a little off topic but who thinks my camera is sexy?
I think my camera is sexy. (It's funny because it's more attractive than I am.)

Me being creative(ish) with my shots.
What are your favorite outfits for trips out in Summer? And what do you avoid wearing at all costs?
Let me know in the comment!

Today I'm Wearing... (June 9th)

Today was a prefect summers day and after a more than time consuming shop that took up the majority of my Saturday I felt it was only appropriate to wear some of my clothes for this up and coming Summer.
As it was warm again I wanted something that would be nice and keep me cool in the sunny weather.
This came in the form of a sleeveless white shirt from Zara basic which I tucked into a light blue embroidered skater skirt from the fabulos Miss Selfridge (Not even joking, most of their stuff is in my opinion beyond perfect!)

My shades of the summer are the black one you see below. The are perfect for hiding the bags under your eyes from partying (or blogging, in my case) all Summer days and nights long. Also they have been trending more lately and seem to add some more drama and help to create a more interesting look than if you go from more 'normal' sunglasses such as wayfarer's or aviators.

Black rounded sunglasses
I paired that with a very new pair of pool green vans. (Okay, I know I'm like the last person to jump on this band wagon but I don't care, I have them now so go away.) I also wore some white ankle socks because I get weirded out when not wearing socks.

My fab brand new "Pool Green" Vans

I even co-ordinated my ice cream!

The outfit served its purpose brilliantly but naturally there's only so much clothes can do, so to make the most of the nice weather I was treated to a delicious ice cream. I have my usual, three scoops, one vanilla, one bubble gum and one smarties.

Sleeveless Shirt: Zara Basic £30 - Embroidered Skater Skirt: Miss Selfridge £35 - Shoes: Vans £55 - Round Framed Sunglasses: River Island £10 - Nails Neon Orange: Next £2.20

Today I'm Wearing... (June 4th)

Today was a Tuesday, one that should have been spent at school, however I had something more important to do. I had an interview for a school for sixth form, one in the south of england. This meant I had the pleasure of a four hour car journey, there and back.

Because of these two things, having to look presentable and be comfy, I chose some white skinny jeans, a light blue Crew shirt and blazer.
I chose these because I wanted my outfit to resemble that of someone who they would like to attend the school, also I decided on lighter colours because they are always more appropriate for warmer weather.
My make-up for the day was very minimal, I only wore Mascara and Concealer, this was so that it looked as through I wasn't trying to hard by over doing it but also meant that I didn't look as though I didn't care which is what I would have looked like had I not worn any at all.

Not too interesting, but that was kinda the point today.

Today I'm wearing... (May 31st)

Nice weather! What is this magic?
Because of this rare occasion I have decided that I ay as well take advantage of this and show you one of the looks that I will be more than likely to be wearing this summer.

Today I'm wearing a cute white cotton dress from Thistlepearl (Urban Outfitters), some white crochet shorts from Zara Basic and a white and cranberry striped tank top from Fat Face.

Square Neckline
So today I'm wearing this
I fell in love with this dress because of its subtle 18th century influences such as the square neckline and the small embroidered flowers, as someone who's favorite time period happens to be the 18th century this dress
Drop down cameo locket
became an instant favorite.

I helped to enforce the 'old-fashioned' feel a little by pairing the look with drop down cameo necklace which would have been worn at the time.

This look is perfect for this
Crochet shorts from Zara
weather because it is light weight, allows you to breath so you won't sweat and being white, helps to reflect the sunlight so you stay cool.

Due to the dress's slightly see through nature I have had to wear some short and a tank top underneath however I think this isn't too noticeable. The shorts are shorter than the hem of the dress so don't show and because they are a light colour and crochet style they blend right in.
