Today I'm Wearing... (September 9th)

Today I'm wearing... my uniform, unfortunately.
Summer is no more and people are going back to school. Most people in the UK went back last week, myself on Thursday. Do I like my uniform? Uh, no. But then again who does?

My expression gives away my feelings for my uniform
The skirts are an awful length (which is why I and everyone else rolls them up with the exception of most year sevens), the shirts, when new, are positively painful to look at and have on occasion caused the odd headache and the jumpers we have... don't even get me started on the jumpers.
I'm not wearing mine in the picture because I refuse to wear it and I don't want anyone stalking me thank you very much, but I will be burning mine when the time comes and will film it for you all because I think you'll enjoy that! (No I'm not a pyromaniac).

Hi.
To go with my dark uniform I decide to go get the brightest most colourful bag I could. I found it too. It was on sale and it fits all my crap- I mean school work inside which means I don't have to drag around an extra bag! I also got lots of lovely compliments on it which I can't exactly complain about AND SO FAR I HAVEN'T SEEN ANYONE ELSE WITH THIS BAG! Let's be honest, is there really anything worse than seeing a year seven walking around with the exact same bag as you? I don't think so.

I also purchased some new, cool school shoes. Okay they're not really school shoes they're just black and within the rules. If you haven't seen them you will find them here! And I am soooo not redirecting you because I deleted the picture I was going to use by mistake, no no no.

Let me know why you hate, or maybe even like your uniform in the comments below!

I DON'T LIKE GOING TO THE HAIRDRESSERS BECAUSE I'M AWKWARD OKAY, LEAVE ME ALONE!

(Reupload from back in September)

As you can probably guess from the title of this post this is going to be about going to the hairdressers. Honestly it's never been something I've enjoyed doing and I will avoid it for as long as I can. The reason I went this time was because my mother booked my appointment and gave me a days notice. Thanks mum.
I am awkward, but not in that cute trips-over-ones-own-feet-and-then-giggles-about-it kinda awkward, as in the I-will-avoid-eye-contact-at-all-costs-and-if-I-meet-you-when-I'm-with-someone-else-I-probably-won't-talk-to-you kinda awkward.
Because I am like this (and please don't be all "You're not awkward, you're just putting it on for attention" because that is bull and I have several people who can tell how bad I am sometimes) there are several things that I really don't like:

  • Small talk.
  • Well actually talk in general with people I don't know.
  • People touching me. (Even if I know the person well I can sometimes have a problem with it.)
  • When people mess with my hair.
  • When people try to talk to me when I really don't want to talk.
  • People asking me questions. (If you know me you'll know that I like to be the one asking them!)

And where does this all happen at once? THE HAIRDRESSERS!
So can you really blame me for not liking it?
And yes, yes, you can call it a shy teenager phase and say that I'm just being silly BUT I DO ACTUALLY HOPE THAT THIS IS ONLY A PHASE BECAUSE OTHERWISE I'M SCREWED TO A CERTAIN EXTENT.

Because I'm so awkward I will always just nod along to whatever the hairdresser suggests because I don't know what to say. Even if they say something maybe I don't exactly like I will still just and nod along politely because I'm not sure what I would say. When I do say something it's only after I have rehearsed it in my head several time and then spent the last five minuets trying to muster up the courage to actually say it!

Another problem is that on occasion the person who's doing my hair talks quickly, I have no idea what they're saying, they say things such as "oh and we'll shape it like so so that it frames your face and blah blah blah" SOMETIMES I WOULDN'T KNOW IF I'D JUST AGREED TO LET THEM SHAVE MY HEAD UNTIL THEY'D DONE IT AND THEN IT WOULD ALREADY BE TOO LATE!
In the end though I made it out alive and only a little traumatised. The end result was the below:

NO IT DOES NOT LOOK THE SAME AS ALWAYS!

The woman who did my hair (was really lovely and tried to talk to me and I feel really bad for not talking to her) cut a little off the bottom (and by that I of course mean that she chopped off a couple inches as opposed to a couple centimetres) gave me some layers and cut my hair so that it framed my face. (Still not sure what that means...)
There's a pretty big chance that I'll once again manage to put off for another eight months. Yeah that last time I got it cut was February... oops.

Anyway that's the end of let's-laugh-at-Emma-for-being-a-failure, in the comments below let me know if you have this problem or something similar, it'd be great to know that I'm not totally alone!

P.s. The largest problem in my life right now seems to be one big, fat case of how the hell do I light this bitch???
I ended up with this... it'll do
I need better equipment so please just bear with me till it's my birthday.

Summer Haul

As Summer is now over (sob) with people returning back to school I decided that I should share with you all that I bought in the duration of the summer holidays!

Don't you dare judge...
As someone who simply cannot help themselves when it comes to music I had to get new music, and I'm one of those people who happens to love physical copies.
The albums bought (from left to right) are:
  • Riot - Paramore
  • Save Rock and Roll - Fall Out boy
  • Feel - Sleeping With Sirens
  • From Death to Destiny - Asking Alexandria
  • Paramore - Paramore
  • Sempiternal - Bring Me The Horizon
I don't even know what half of these are for...
On the make-up front I have acquired a whole array of new brushes and cosmetics.

I bought make-up that I needed as oppose to what I wanted. I currently still don't have duplicates which I think is wise. What I bought is now what I usually wear. This way I'm not spending money on something I don't use!
In the collection:
  • Studded compact mirror - Forever 21
  • Lip Balm - Carmex
  • Liquid Eye Liner - Misslyn
  • Coal Eye Liner - Misslyn
  • Lipsstick - Boujour
  • Eye shadow pallette - W7
  • Fanned Mascara

As I mentioned in my pervious post, if you are in need of a fashionable recreational activity brushing up on certain fashion houses or fashion aspect in the form of a book can never go amiss. Some light reading (but do not be fooled, under no damn circumstance are any of these books LIGHT!)
  •  Fashion Icons - Leen Demeester
  • 100 Ideas that Changed Fashion - Harriet Wosley
  • Chanel Collections and Creations - Daniele Bott

These I purchased from New Look on my last shopping trip with the fabulous Georgia (her blog is here!). I bought these because:
 1. I need to be taller the my younger brother who is almost my height despite that fact the he is four years my junior.
2. I have really wanted a pair of ankle boots for sometime now.
3. I needed shoes with a thicker heel.
Lucky for me these fitted all the requirements and me perfectly. So I made them mine.

I'm aware this isn't 100% related bUT HOW COULD I NOT?!

My new school shoes, oh aren't they pretty, from New Look and for once in my life not from CLARKS! (No offense to Clarks or anything tho...). They have a thick sole and a the comfiest school shoes I've had in a while. They all so look really cool so it's win, win. The cherry on the cake I must say tho is that they are within the school regulations, this basically means that I can get away with it!

A fake pearl necklace for all my looking-proper-fabulous needs as well as for covering up some of the awful necklines on t-shirts like I mentioned before here! Purchased from a shop in Antwerp who's name escapes me at this current moment, all I recall is that it was cheap, but it does the trick so I don't care.

A new purse (larger than my pervious one) because I need somewhere to keep all my money of course! (Again that's a joke, I'm broke as hell...)

A handy little dictionary for any budding fashionista who wishes to work in any area of the business. It contains simple and concise definitions of various garments, stitches etc. as well as containing some pretty illustrations which just make the book better. (C'mon, who doesn't like pretty pictures?!)

I bought this hairband from River Island on the basis that, number one, it looked cool and, number 2, these are  the same ones as those worn by Taylor Swift in her music video for "22".
See! The same.

My personal favourite thing I have bought this summer, or rather ever, is this fabulous spiky bra which I found and Munich and bought AS A JOKE, mind you, to cheer up a friend after a rather unfortunate mishap. Also this bra is all over tumblr and something I'd seen before and said that I found pretty awesome.

What was your favourite thing that you bought over the summer? Comment below!
