Today I'm wearing... (May 31st)

Nice weather! What is this magic?
Because of this rare occasion I have decided that I ay as well take advantage of this and show you one of the looks that I will be more than likely to be wearing this summer.

Today I'm wearing a cute white cotton dress from Thistlepearl (Urban Outfitters), some white crochet shorts from Zara Basic and a white and cranberry striped tank top from Fat Face.

Square Neckline
So today I'm wearing this
I fell in love with this dress because of its subtle 18th century influences such as the square neckline and the small embroidered flowers, as someone who's favorite time period happens to be the 18th century this dress
Drop down cameo locket
became an instant favorite.

I helped to enforce the 'old-fashioned' feel a little by pairing the look with drop down cameo necklace which would have been worn at the time.

This look is perfect for this
Crochet shorts from Zara
weather because it is light weight, allows you to breath so you won't sweat and being white, helps to reflect the sunlight so you stay cool.

Due to the dress's slightly see through nature I have had to wear some short and a tank top underneath however I think this isn't too noticeable. The shorts are shorter than the hem of the dress so don't show and because they are a light colour and crochet style they blend right in.

Is it just me...

Okay, there is something I must know. Am I the only one who when they get home after buying the latest issue of Vogue or Elle from the newsagent, or when it finally gets delivered always has to quickly flip through it and smell it?
Right, I know how incredibly weird and strange that must sound but it's always the first thing I do with a new magazine.
I don't know why I do it but in my opinion it's the best smell in the world.
Please don't judge me.
I seriously have no clue what posses me each month to do that but I love it.
Best smell in the world.
..... Yes I am aware how odd I am and pLEASE COMMENT AND LET ME KNOW THAT I AM NOT THE ONLY ONE, THAT WOULD BE NICE THANK YOU!!!

Hair Revelations

I am a teenager, fifteen to be precise, naturally this means that I am still in education and will most likely be for the next seven years of my life, providing I choose to go to university.
Now as a school girl living in the UK I am very much limited as to what I can wear to school thanks to that lovely thing called uniform which most if not all schools here have.
We must abide by the dress code (however most tend to make adaptions to this such as rolling up skirts, wearing "non school" shoes and various pieces of other clothing) or else there are consequences.    However on of the blissful freedoms they do allow us is how we have our hair. Most girls tend to have their preferred way of wearing it during the school day, so I decided to share with you the styles in which I often have my hair.

Okay, let's start with the more than obvious, sometimes I just do not have the time to do nice lovely things to my hair because as we all know more than well enough, getting out of bed on a morning is very hard work and those extra minuets are precious, so I often prefer to spend them wrapped up in my duvet rather than fiddling with hair grips and hair ties so I just leave it.

On other days however I may be more adventures, this can result in my retrieving my favorite clip (Which isn't even mine, it belongs to my mother) from the bottom of the box which contains a vast amount of hair crap, brushes, bobbles, slidie thingys etc.
I grab the remnants of my fringe (A cringe worthy mistake made by my 12 year-old self) and some hair from the left side of my head and pull them together at the back and fasten them with my clip.

A high pony tail is always brilliant if I am in a mood with people seeing as it helps during arguments and "Strutting" off because I can walk with extra dramatic and sassiness if I have my hair swishing rhythmically behind me as I walk.
It also pulls the hair out of my face which is of course a bouns as it is terribly annoying if you're strutting off and you fall flat on your face.
It ruins this while very cool illusion you see.

At the moment this is my chosen style for school, I will wear my hair this way for approximately two weeks before moving on to something new, but until then I wear my hair in a messy bun, because it will inevitably sag so I pull it up and clip it to the top of my head. I add some hair grips to collect loose strands of hair and pin them so the look is collected and complete.

If the messy bun above isn't, what, dramatic enough? You can always choose to wear it a little higher in a high messy bun (for the record, I am aware that the bun looks messy, unkept and casual but that does not mean that it doesn't take fifteen attempts to get correct) like those girls on tumblr do. Just grab the hair, shove it together on the top of your head and wrap a bobble over it, usually three or four, especially if you happen to have a lot of hair such as me.

Pulling your hair directly over your head, pinning it to the back with a clip and then having your hair to the left makes your hair look big and gives it a little bit of a va va voom effect to a certain extent in my opinion.
Not really sure what is happening here, but it clipped my hair directly on top of my head, it kinda bunched and I ended up looking like a junkie.
Hmmm, not quite sure how I feel about that.

Feeling lazy but stll wan t o look presentable? then having a simple side plat will work for you seeing as it is easy and fast to do. It will keep your hair in place all day and one you take it out you will have that wonderful wave effect (even if it does only last about 20 minuets).

Of course an easy one that never seems to fail is when you decide to straighten the shit out of your hair, time and time again no matter how bad it is. We all do it and it's seems to be a fool proof method of having nice hair. (I straighten mine so that I can twist it so I have nice waves, I dunno, it work tho)
Just don't over do it on this one, it can really damage your hair.

Hey guys I moustache you a question....
Never mind I'll shave it for later.

(Laughs at own joke because I'm so damn funny)

Gahhh hair is stressful, bad hair days are even more stressful because no look looks good!

Not really sure what to say about this one apart for that I get some kinda creepy "anime, Japanese school girl vibes".
No thanks, not for me.
Hahaha am have been lying to you all, I am in fact a native american. Can't you tell by the feather in my hair?
Okay, I'm lying again, it's actually a play which I clipped up backwards so the ends of my hair are above my head looking like a feather.

I whip my hair back and forth
I whip my hair back and forth

Okay now I'm just getting distracted.

DAMN YOU WILLOW SMITH!

So let me know how you guys tend to wear your hair to school and if you use any of the same styles that I do.

Beau Brooks for Armani

Being a teen girl I am a fangirl. Some of the people I tend to fangirl over are a group of 5, 17-19 year olds know as the Janoskains, (Just Another Name OSilly Kids IAnother Nation Skip). They are Australian YouTubers based in Melbourne. Their videos  are comedy, consisting of various pranksstuntsskitsmockumentaries.
Today I would like to bring to your attention a certain member of the group know as Beau Brooks, he is the older sibling of the Brooks twins Luke and Jai and is also the oldest member of the group at 19.

(Posted on his personal twitter 13/5/13, however it was later removed.)

As you can see he is well... beyond attractive. He is mega flipping hot, as in I want to throw myself off a cliff hot. (This picture is also responsible for being emotional unstable this morning when I first saw it.)
I believe that Beau could easily head up a campaign for Armani exactly as Cristiano Ronaldo did when he along side Megan Fox became the face of the company in January 2010.

He clearly has the body for it and would be open to the idea seeing as along with that picture he tweeted in a joking manor that Armani should sign him. This I would have no objection with seeing as I can say that personally I would very much prefer to see Beau on one of those massive billboards you see all over cities such as London and Milan than some other random model.

(God bless who ever made this edit.)

Much can also be said about One Direction's Harry Styles who could more than easily be the face of Armani, and again, no objection. So would I like to see two of my favorite celebrities be the face of one of my favorite fashion houses?
Yes please, more than anything.

In my opinion Beau Brooks is far hotter than Ronaldo. Nuf said.

Damn wind

So I live in the UK, in the north,  it's quite nice up here (When it's not raining like there's no tomorrow) and I do very much enjoy living here. But more often than not it will rain and be terribly windy.
Now for some one who loves to wear skirts more than anything this is terribly inconvenient.
I wear skirts everywhere, to school, to the shops, to parties (lol, jk, I'm a total loser, I don't go to parities).
So for example, today I wanted to make my bestfriend a birthday cake, however we were out of icing sugar, to I went into town to fetch some, however the view through my bedroom window was deceptive and it was actually more windy than I anticipated it to be.

Now you see the skirt I was wearing was fairly short, so even a little wind would blow it up and my pants would be on display for the whole world to see. I am not really up for this type of attention from complete strangers. So had to spend the entire walk there and back with my hands on my skirt to prevent it from blowing up like it famously did to Marilyn Monroe in 'The Seven Year Itch'.
(Okay I am aware that her skirt blew up because she stood over a Subway grate, but I needed the example to make my point okay.)

Honestly I would very much prefer to live in a place where one would not have to live in fear of this happening to them on a daily basis. But oh well, hopefully one day I won't have to.

Layering Those Legs

I am one who happens to be quite fond of their legs, yes I know that sounds weird but, um, yeah... so as I have mentioned before I like to wear skirts so I always wear tights or socks or both with them. I do this because not only is it warm but I looks kinda cool, a little like how Avril Lavigne  dressed in the music video for "Girlfriend" back in '07.

I do not like to wear trousers very much because they are rather constricting and have just fallen out of favor with me.

I am also wearing my white and navy striped leggings which I have had for a few years now and never used to waer them but seeing as fashion is something that has a tendency to re-use themes over and over again, even if they are a little different each time, I decided that it would be a brilliant excuse to begin wearing them again without having irritating comment make about them.

(Oscar de la Renta Summer 2013)

And if anyone such as my older brother were to remark "God Emma what's with the dumb tights?" I can just simple look at him and say "It's called fashion, look it up.", because yes, I am just that sassy.

Today I have been wearing my pink knee high socks with my same comic book style socks (Which I bought for £1 at Primark) and the same converse and skirt.

I think the look suits me and it does help to keep me warm, however this can attract more attention than if I were to wear a simple pair of jeans seeing as I earned myself more than enough disapproving looks and glares from some older people, which I suppose is to be expected really.
I have to say that I haven't seen many, if any (hahaha that rhymed) other people wearing this so hey, I'm different.
Get. Over It.

Starbucks <3

Yes, yes, yes, I am MORE than aware how "common white girl" this is, posting a picture of my drink but my drink is delicious and I love it.

Everytime I go I have the same thing, I have like "my usual". It's always a caramel frappucio with extra cream. No double, tall, skinny latte crap or whatever for me.
To be perfectly honest I actually hate coffee, and tea seeing as we're on the subject. I just find it really... ew. Much to the shock and disapproval of my english friends.
And you see I'm not one of these people who buys Starbucks just so they can post a picture on their instagram to get some likes. I actually like the drink! And I always finish mine, with my friends they usually  only drink half because they are so terrified of putting on more weight.
I can't do that.
I like food far too much.
I also really like that they write your name on the cup. How ever I have had people spell my name "Ema" and "Enna" and even have had an "Emily" once, much to my friends enjoyment.
My all in all I just like the drink. Comment on what your order usually is :D

Hello

Yeah, so I have decided that I need some space where I can write about clothes and fashion etc because the actual physical people in my life either have no idea what in God's name I am on about or just plain don't care.
So hello dear reader, if you are reading this either you have stalked my blog back to my first post, clicked on the wrong blog or actually want to read what I have to say, in which case, hi ;D
Basically this is my fashion blog.
I hope that you enjoy your stay :3
